At Cromwell & Associates, we help clients with the different types of immigration status.
Those considered U.S. citizens were either born within the United States or have become “naturalized” after going through the legal process to obtain permanent residence in the U.S.
Legal Permanent Residents are those who hold a green card. A green card holder is considered a lawful permanent resident, or someone who has been granted authorization to live and work within the United States permanently.
Conditional Residents are those who have been married less than two years before receiving a green card. Conditional residents are required to file jointly with their spouse to remove the condition within two years of receiving a green card. If this condition is unmet, the card will be terminated and one may face deportation.
